The position involves a variety of environmental sampling and inspections as well as reporting and office duties. Specific tasks may include:
• Inspection and sampling of building materials for a lead, arsenic, and asbestos
• Sampling soil or groundwater for analysis of environmental pollutants
• Documenting field activities
• Using Microsoft Office programs to create summary tables and charts
The position requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record. State of Hawaii asbestos and lead inspector certifications as well as HAZWOPER certification are a plus but are not required. Basic computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel at a basic level are required.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, communication skills, and interest in environmental issues. For the right candidate MNA will provide all required training.
The position will be located in Aiea and will require up to 60% travel within the Hawaiian Islands with travel throughout the Pacific possible.
